From Our Gnome To Yours

Hi, everyone! To kick off Fabby Friday, I have some extra exciting news to bring you today! My HaystackCards shop on Etsy is now open! You can find a direct link to my shop at the top of my blog homepage. All of the greeting cards in my shop are already made and can be shipped worldwide immediately. I also offer free domestic shipping in the United States.

If you want to purchase today's card, you can find it in my shop here.

Now back to my blog post for today... the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog is bursting with inspiration! I am sharing a fun interactive card using the Gnome and Fairy Fae House digital stamps. These images come with more bang for your buck -- you'll receive an extra digital paper and a Christmas themed gnome with your digital downloads.

I colored the fairy fae house with Copics before inking the edges with tumbled glass distress ink and layering it on a distressed red panel. The computer generated sentiment is ink blended with mowed lawn distress ink and mounted with foam tape. I used a hexagon punch to shape the ends into a banner/flag.

Now, here comes the real surprise!! The inside features a stenciled scene and a fun pop-up element. I used Jennifer McGuire's pop-up window cards video tutorial to create the inside of this card. Designing a card like this with the pop-up element and a stenciled background scene is a "new to me" technique.

The gnome is also colored with Copics and then fussy cut with scissors. I love how the interior element pops up at you when the recipient opens the card.

The background is stenciled with the MFT clouds and radiating rays stencils. The sun itself is a stitched circle die cut inked with squeezed lemonade and wild honey distress inks. An additional panel inked with mowed lawn distress ink and a grassy border die cut along the top edge forms a clear area for the stamped sentiment and room to write a short message.

Hopefully, this inspires you to have a go at crafting this weekend -- and to get inky with pop-up cards too. If you need more inspiration to get started, check out other projects by the design team on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!!

  5. Very cute pop-up! Love the inside. Thank you for joining us at Word Art Wednesday. I would like to share with you God's Word in John 8:12 which says, "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” God's Word is timely and timeless. Have a blessed weekend!
