#TheDailyMarker30Day Coloring Challenge

Hi, everyone! Boy did it feel good to get some crafting time in this weekend! When I wasn't coloring, I was glued to the Weather Channel watching the track of Hurricane Irma. This storm brings back memories of when Hurricane Isabel hit Virginia in 2003. I'm so thankful that Irma didn't head our way but my heart goes out to all of those people in the Caribbean, Florida, and Georgia impacted by this storm. Please know that I am sending thoughts and prayers your way, hoping everyone stays safe.

I managed to get a few cards created for Grandparents Day and also this fun birthday card. It was super quick to color. I will be sharing this project in the #thedailymarker30day coloring challenge.

I started out stamping the speech bubbles and little bugs from Small Talk onto a strip of white cardstock. The solid speech bubbles are stamped in wilted violet and cracked pistachio distress oxide inks. These inks are awesome for stamping sentiments and solid images!! The bugs and open speech bubbles were super quick to color with my Copics.

As the design of my card evolved, I decided to cut this strip down using the the MFT stitched cover-up companion die. This made me nervous because I didn't quite know how this card would play out. In the end, I layered this on top of some patterned paper secured to a top folding A2 horizontal card base.

To hide the edges of the stamped panel, I added another die cut on top that is popped up with foam tape. To personalize the card for my daughter's friend, I die cut the Verve Stamps pennant trim four times. The top layer is pink. I wrote out the letters freehand and stamped a few more bugs from the stamp set.

I left two pennant flags blank and added clear rhinestones for some bling. It was a design risk using the stitched cover-up companion die but I think it turned out super cute.

Thanks for stopping by!!
