A Modified Birthday Card

Hi, everyone!! I have a modified birthday card to share today. I created a basic birthday card with the happy word die and balloon die from MFT Blueprints 26 and the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings stamp set.

This basic card has been sitting in my stash for just over a year... that is, until this weekend when my son was going to attend a friend's birthday party. It was entirely too plain so I decided to make a few modifications.

I colored up a couple of the animals from the Mama Elephant Woodland Gifts stamp set. The little mouse is popped up with foam tape for added dimension.

For the inside sentiment, I personalized it for a 6-year-old's birthday using an Impression Obsession stamp set by Tami Potter from my stash. It must be retired because I couldn't find it on their webpage. I stamped the circle first in coordinating dye inks and then masked it off with a full-adhesive post-it note. Then I stamped the word "happy" multiple times using my Misti.

I enjoyed re-purposing this old card from my stash. Let me know in the comments if you've ever done something like this. Next time, I think I would use three different dye inks for the "happy" sentiment to create an ombre effect.

That's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by!!
