Sunshine for My Soul

Hi everyone!! I had another productive weekend making a few cards while my mom had a fun playdate with the grandkids - yippee! This is one of two cards that I made with my Zig markers and coincidentally, it's the perfect layout for the current Less is More #16 sketch.

The negative from my Mama Elephant hello script die cut was actually a scrap piece that I could use from another card that I will share very soon. The bright yellow watercolor reminded me of sunshine so I masked off an area on the top and bottom of the card and heat embossed the sun and sentiment (from Verve's Doodled Occasions stamp set) in white using Versamark ink. Then I inked up those same areas with tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress inks using the emboss resist technique. I intentionally left some white areas on top to give the impression of clouds in the sky.

I'm really happy with the way this card turned out - a simple, almost one layer card that will lie perfectly flat for mailing when the time comes. Thanks for stopping by!!
