A Lazy Afternoon
I'm feeling pretty good today that I am one step ahead of Father's Day this year. I used Lili of the Valley's Lazy Afternoon as my main image and colored him with my Copics. How adorable is this little guy... leaning up against a hill taking a snooze with the daily news? I can see my Father-in-Law now reading his Standard, the hometown newspaper of Merriton in St. Catharines, Ontario.
The Happy Father's Day sentiment is from a retired SP&Co stamp set and the red chevron striped twill ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. After tying the ribbon in a knot, I frayed one end to make it look like a tassel. Cool, eh?
I will also be entering this card in the following blog challenges:
The catch is to make a masculine card without using Kraft
and to include ribbon on your project.
I spend a lot of time trying to make sure that ribbon doesn't fray, but this looks fantastic! Especially in the two colours. Yoiur colouring is amazing too! So glad you joined us at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely, bright CAS card and I love the ribbon tassel!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining our Lili of the Valley June Challenge!
Good Luck!

Oh my goodness, this is absolutely fabulous!!! First of all, you have colored that darling image perfectly and I love the simple white and blue cardstock base--it allows the image and great ribbon treatment take center stage! And speaking of that ribbon treatment--it's SO COOL!!! I've never even seen this technique so I definitely am inspired to try it asap! Especially with the wonderful wide chevron ribbon from RRR! Great job and thanks so much for sharing it and joining us for the masculine challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon! Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linsey! My ribbon treatment was actually an accident at first but then I thought the half frayed ribbon would look pretty cool -- which in the end turned out to be a really neat tassel.
DeleteWhat a great take on the challenge. Thanks for playing along with us at Really Reasonable Ribbon!
