Hedgie Love and Flowers

This week over at SP and Company, it's Happy Anniversary and Couples Week! I knew right away I wanted to use the Hedgie with Large Bouquet stamp set by Tina Wenke for my design team project. This is such a great set with a variety of sentiments.

It's also a perfect set for anniversaries or for someone you love, so I will be entering this card in the current Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #87: Valentine's Day/Love.

I love how my project evolved this week. I had a completely different sketch and design in mind when I started my project and then in mid-stream, I changed just about everything except for the main image and red bow.

This is my very first double slider card thanks to a tutorial I found on Pinterest. It was a complete leap of faith, unsure how it would turn out.  But I absolutely LOVE it!!

When you pull the tab, there are two panels that slide out from the card top. The sliding mechanism fits in between the card base so it doesn't open up like a traditional card. On the back slider, I stamped just the flowers and butterfly from the Hedgie stamp set. I colored them with Copics in a slightly lighter shade than the main image. I stamped the front slider in second generation Real Red ink with the small polka dot background stamp (on clearance, so get your's before they're gone!). The Happy Anniversary sentiment from the Hedgie set is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

I created the red satin bow with my Bow-It-All by Zutter from Really Reasonable Ribbon. It adds just the right touch! I'm super excited about how this card turned out. I'll definitely be making more slider cards in the future!

Please join us this week and link up your creations on the SP Blog. My teammates on the design team have some fabulous projects to share too. Thanks for stopping by!!
