Happy Birthday to View!

This week, I have a birthday card to share that features The Stamps of Life tv2stamp set from November's monthly kit club. As a Die Hard Club Member, I also received the coordinating dies!  I made this card for my daughter's friend who is turning nine this week.

The question is… what present do you get for a nine-year-old? In the long run, I decided movie tickets for her and a friend would go over well. I needed a clever way to wrap up two tickets to the cinema and found this awesome video tutorial on Pinterest using Stampin' Up's new Envelope Punch Board. I love how you can use this tool for more than just envelopes. It's basically a tutorial for a gift card holder, however, the tickets were a ½-inch longer than your standard gift card. Fortunately, I was able to modify the measurements to meet my needs -- see below for details.

I stamped the mini TVs and the "It's Show Time" starburst in Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight inks to coordinate with the Stampin' Up card stock. I thought these colors played nicely with the patterned card stock from my stash. I added the HB2U sentiment using letters and icons from SP's Tiny Build a Banner stamp set. The mini TV sets are secured with dimensionals and appear to be attached to the tricolor twine.  I also notched out the sides of the Melon Mambo card stock using the Word Window Punch which helps to keep the twine in place. White gel pen stitch marks frame out the card.

The tv2stamp set includes several sentiments so I added "Happy Birthday to View" stamped in Tempting Turquoise to the card's interior.

Since it's also Anything Goes Week over at SP and Company, I'm going to enter this card into the weekly link-up. I know I didn't focus on SP products with this card, but I did incorporate a stamp set! It's too cute to pass up!
