From Your Secret Santa

I'm very excited to share my first post with you as a member of the Design Team for SP and Company!  It's been very hard to keep this a secret for the last two weeks.  I feel so honored to have been selected and I'm really looking forward to sharing my creations with you on this new journey!

To go along with Handmade Gifts and Gift Tags week, I decided to make these adorable little gift boxes.

I got the idea for these boxes from a tutorial I found on Pinterest.  You won't believe how simple they are to create!  For my first box, I used the Santa Claus stamp set by Tina Wenke and colored him with Copics.  The "...Secret Santa" sentiment on the front came from the Forest Friends Winter Post set by Gill Roberts.  The font style from this set also conveniently coordinates with the "Merry Christmas" sentiment in the Oh Christmas Tree set.

I needed a way to keep the front flap of the box secure so I used some leftover 1/2-inch elastic from my daughter's Halloween costume.  I stamped a snowflake from the Fancy Snowflakes set next to the sentiment and along the elastic band in SU Real Red ink.  A clear rhinestone adds a touch of bling and three jingle bells attached with twine to a button in Avocado Green add some holiday cheer to the red "Ho Ho Ho" grosgrain ribbon.

Here's a closeup of Santa so you can see the glittery white fur and the glossy accent nose of the reindeer.

I had so much fun with this project that I created a second gift box using the reverse side of the same paper.  This shows a more simplistic, yet completely different design, using many of the same supplies...

What a great way to wrap up small gifts for the holidays!  Perfect for co-workers, friends, and teachers! What gift items would you use these gift boxes for?  Please leave a comment so you can enter to win the SP&Co giveaway highlighted in this week's Sunday Scoop.
