You're the Sweetest!

Hello, friends and followers of Haystack Cards.  It's Cupcakes and Candy Week at SP&Co, so in my opinion, you can't get any better than Simply Sweet Emma.  Here's the theme card I made for a friend who's celebrating a birthday today.  I'm so excited to see her reaction when I give it to her tonight!!!

I can't believe it's October already and for a bit last week, it really felt like Fall had started here in Virginia.  The cool temps quickly passed because it's been back up in the mid-80's everyday this week. I carefully selected the colors for this card to coordinate with the current Fall Colors Challenge #78 at Color Me Creative Classroom.

On the front, I started with Cryogen White card stock and added Spiced Marmalade, Red Barn, and Walnut Stain distress inks.  The sentiment on the front from the Simply Sweet Emma set was also stamped in Walnut Stain, but as a second generation impression.

Emma and the two cupcakes were colored with Copics.  The heart candies on top of each cupcake were inked with distress ink instead.  The cupcakes were secured with dimensionals and white gel pen stitch marks frame out the "flip it" focal point on both sides.

It was super sweet and easy to cut out Emma using the Sunshine Emma die tools which coordinate almost perfectly.  And... lining up the dies on the image was a breeze with my Sizzix magnetic platform!  Here are a few close-ups:

The Happy Birthday sentiment is also from SP&Co.  It was just the right size.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
