The Frosting to My Cupcake

Tonight, my hubby and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary.  It's hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by.  One apartment, two houses, a dog, and two kids later... and I have to say, it's been a good nine years!  Here's the card I made for my hubby:

Kraft is my go-to paper for masculine cards.  I heat embossed the Versamark ink of the woodgrain layer and sentiment with snow white embossing powder.

The sentiment and cupcake are both from SP&Co's Simply Sweet Emma stamp set.  The cupcake is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I fussy cut the heart on top and secured it to the cupcake with mini glue dots.

I punched each end of the sentiment layer with my Martha Stewart Corner Punch and added white gel pen stitch marks.  The multiple layers behind the cardstock were cut and embossed with my Spellbinders dies.  In person you can also see that the dark blue layer is secured with foam dots to give the card added dimension.

Challenges I've Entered:

Supplies:
Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 22; Martha Stewart
Other: Ribbon from Wal-Mart, White Gel Pen, Snow Embossing Powder

Copics:
R-24,27,29
B-91,93,95
