The More Candles...

My inspiration for this card came from the SP Color Combo #142 Challenge.  I'm also entering it in two more challenges: CMC Anything Goes Challenge #68 and MarkerPop's Party Time Challenge #23

I just love this color combination!  It's perfect for a birthday card and it gave me an opportunity to practice my Copic coloring technique.

When I chose to use the sentiment from the SP&Co Bold Sentiments III - Birthdays set, I knew the main image of the card had to be candles... and lots of them!

The candles are from a stamp set I had in my stash.  The candles and sentiment are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

There wasn't enough room to put two rows of candles without cutting off the image so I had to stagger them slightly.  To fill the void, I added stars from the SP&Co Ornamental Trees set, stamped in SP In Color Ocean Waves and Avocado Green (hint hint... see color combo above), and Versa Magic Sea Breeze chalk inks.

I used the following Copics to color in the candles: Y11/13/15; BG10/11/32; R81/83/85; YG03/25; and V12/15/17.

To give the card dimension, I raised the sentiment layer with pop dots and added two SP In Color buttons in ocean waves and flamingo pink.  White gel pen stitch marks finish out the card.

I really like how this card turned out.  It's cheerful and happy, no matter what the age.  Here's another close up...
