Just In Time for Mother's Day

It has been quite busy the last two weeks and I am way overdue on publishing this post.  Two weeks ago this Friday, my sister had her baby five weeks early.  Blake Walter came into this world weighing a hefty 6 pounds, 8 ounces... a great size for being a preemie.  It took everyone by surprise and it made this past Mother's Day extra special for everyone in my family.  My sister became a mother, my mom and dad celebrated the addition of another grandson, and I became an Auntie.

Isn't he a cutie?  Everyone is doing really well.  The night Blake was born, my Mom and I went back to my sister's house and spent the next morning getting their house ready for their arrival.  They did not expect to have the baby so soon so they didn't even bring the car seat with them to the hospital... it was still in the box from the baby shower!  I surprised them with this "Welcome Home" message on the chalkboard wall in their kitchen.

I somehow managed to get two Mother's Day cards done that same weekend, although the one for my sister was sent a day or two later.  Can you figure out which card was for her?

I used mostly Echo Park paper from my SP & Company monthly kits and the All Around Everything and Accessories stamp sets (and coordinating die tools) from My Creative Time.  The ribbon was in my "Moving Box" of supplies from SP & Company.  I used Memento dye ink in Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, and Bamboo Green.  I colored the flower with Copics and used the Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Scallop for the scallop border.

Thanks for stopping by!!
