Happy Everything - Birthday Banner Card

I got my April monthly kit in the mail yesterday from SP & Company and decided I would use it for a birthday card I was going to make for my co-worker -- who's birthday is on Monday!

The design came from a card I saw on Pinterest.  It was a great opportunity to use my new Big Build a Banner 2 stamp set.  I stamped the scallop banner in various inks, including Scrapmaster's Paradise newest color, Ocean Waves.  The Big Build a Banner 2 die tools made cutting the coordinating paper from Echo Park's, The Perfect Summer so easy!

One thing I did that is not that noticeable in the photograph above is that I covered the kraft layer with the Ocean Waves ink.  The kraft paper by itself didn't seem to flow with the rest of the card, but with the ink applied, I think it ties together better.

The sentiment came from the Bold Sentiments I set and is stamped in Memento Lady Bug.  The top red layer with the banners is raised up to give the card dimension.  The banners are stitched together with twine. Stitch marks with a white gel pen finish off the edges.

Here's another look at the card.

Thanks for stopping by!
